The short version
AI for Life is built local-first. You do not create an account, and your lesson progress and notes never leave your device. The only personal information we ever receive is what you choose to send through the custom lesson form or by email. We run no advertising, no tracking pixels, and we never sell data.
1. Who we are
aiforlife.app is operated by ByteFlowAI LLC ("ByteFlowAI," "we," "us"), the practice of Matthew Sutherland. This policy explains what information this site handles, what stays on your device, and how to reach us about any of it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.
2. What stays on your device
Your lesson progress (which steps you marked complete), your reflection notes, and your device choice (Mobile, Windows, or Mac) are stored in your browser using localStorage. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. This means:
- We cannot see your progress or notes, and there is no copy to recover if you clear them.
- Progress is per browser and per device; it does not follow you between browsers.
- You can erase all of it yourself at any time: use the Reset progress button on any lesson, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
3. What we collect, and when
Custom lesson requests. The form at /custom-lesson/ collects exactly four things: your topic, your device, your goal, and where you get stuck. If you use the email fallback instead, we receive whatever you write plus your email address. Requests are stored in Cloudflare Workers KV and delivered to us by email (via the Resend email service) so we can scope your request and reply. They are used for nothing else.
Anonymous usage counts. The site sends a small first-party beacon with a fixed set of named events (for example page_view or lesson_completed) and coarse context only: which lesson, and whether the device is Mobile, Windows, or Mac. The beacon carries no names, no email addresses, no notes, no free text, and no cross-site identifiers; the code enforces this list. Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics service, also runs on this site at the network level. Neither system profiles you.
Server and edge logs. Our host (Cloudflare) records standard request logs, including IP address, browser type, and requested URL, for security and operational purposes. We do not use these logs to identify or profile visitors.
4. The community is a separate platform
The AI for Life community runs on Skool (skool.com). Joining it is your choice and happens on Skool’s site under Skool’s own terms and privacy policy. Nothing about your activity on this site is shared with Skool, and Skool sends us nothing about you automatically. What you post in the community is visible to its members.
5. What we do not do
No advertising or ad networks. No tracking pixels or fingerprinting. No selling or renting of personal information, ever. No payment collection on this site. No data collection from children: this site is a general-audience resource and is not directed at children under 13.
6. How long we keep things
Custom lesson requests are kept while we are working with you and for a reasonable period afterward, then deleted. Anonymous event counts contain nothing personal to delete. On-device data is yours: it lives and dies in your browser.
7. Your rights and deletion
You can ask us at any time to show you or delete any request data we hold about you (for example a custom lesson request). Email [email protected] from the address you used and we will confirm within a few days. Depending on where you live, laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or the GDPR may give you additional rights; we honor reasonable requests regardless of jurisdiction.
To delete what is stored on your device, use the Reset progress button on any lesson or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. We could not do this for you even if asked, because we never have it.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the date below changes with it and the substance of the change will be stated plainly at the top of this page. We will never quietly expand what we collect.
